Antique French painting of flowers
An unusual and very beautiful French painting of flowers in an urn. Painted in 1835 in Pas de Calais, where it was purchased, this painting has clearly been treasured.
The painting is of stylised garden flowers including tulips, roses and chrysanthemums. Beneath the urn is the word ‘souvenir’. If you are a lover of flowers you will enjoy identifying the various blooms shown.
As some point in the twentieth century a stunning mount was created for this painting which enhances the artist’s design. We have added a simple black frame so that it can be hung by you immediately.
There is small amount of damage to one corner which is only noticeable on close inspection. We have shown this in the images so please look at these.
